A beautiful Spring wedding at Cooling Castle Barn….

In May, Lindsey and James held their beautiful wedding at the beautiful Cooling Castle Barn wedding venue in Kent.

The weather couldn’t have been better, a lovely sunny day filled with love and lots of sunny smiles!!
I love photographing weddings at Cooling Castle, such a stunning wedding venue and a venue where I have worked many times over the years but each time I go I always see something different. The staff are always so attentive and the food is amazing!!

I asked my beautiful bride Lindsey about her and James’s day and this is what she told me.

Did you have a theme? Bride – I knew that I wanted blossom trees as centre pieces so I worked around that. The bridesmaids dresses were blush pink and the men’s ties matched.

What is your favourite memory of the day? Getting ready with all my friends and family and we loved the evening seeing everyone there together having a good time.

Were there any pleasant surprises? James had bought me a present for the morning of which was lovely.

Why did you choose the venue that you chose? I saw it on Pinterest and fell in love with it. It had everything I needed in one place and was beautiful.

Any special details/personal touches? I made beaded name places, menus and favours. I also had small photo frames hanging from my bouquet of all my grandparents who couldn’t be there.

How did you incorporate your colour scheme into your wedding? The blossom trees were pink. My dress was ivory with subtle blush pink underneath. The men’s ties were blush pink and their suits were navy(James choice) the bridesmaids had blush pink dresses. Sounds like a lot of pink but it was a very subtle pink. The two younger girls had white blossom dresses on.

What did you enjoy most about organising your wedding? I loved organising it, and keeping lots of lists and ticking them off. I liked seeing all the little bits come together like the beaded name places I made and favours.

 What did you find the most difficult thing to sort out? The girls dresses were sold out online so I had to go to different outlets over London to find each size.

 Were any of your suppliers particularly helpful? All of the suppliers were amazing and went above and beyond with no hassle.

Wedding favours – We went with scratch cards and had purchased personalised envelopes from Etsy. We finished them off with a penny.

Tell me about your wedding photographer 🙂

My mum recommended Claire as a family member of a friend. We were referred to many of our suppliers as we wanted people we could trust. We looked at her work and thought it was perfect for what we wanted and went ahead and booked her. The booking process was effortless. Claire kept in touch throughout and we were able to ask her exactly what kind of photos we both wanted. We felt comfortable with her before the day and her photos she bought to our house were beautiful!!  Claire made the effort to come to us and introduce herself and personally show us her work we emailed a lot and she always replied very quickly.  Claire looked smart on the day and made us feel comfortable. We both felt the photos were quick and had direction in which we asked for a lot of!

Were you pleased with your photographs? Yes the photos are beautiful, I haven’t got bored of loading up my online gallery whenever anyone asks to see photos from the wedding. Looking at the photos I don’t know how Claire took some of them because I didn’t even see her there.

 If you could change anything what would it be?? Nothing!  I wish I could experience it all again!!
