Back in August 2018, this beautiful couple got married and had the best day ever!!

The day started with both Faye and James getting ready in seperate houses – quite a relaxed morning with both of them. Faye got ready with her mum and bridesmaids – or the glam squad as I liked to call them – all wearing matching ‘bridesmaid’ robes and using cute individually, decorated mirrors to apply their make up.
Faye looked absolutely beautiful and the ‘first look’ reactions from her gorgeous bridesmaids, who all wore stunning and sparkly Jenny Packham dresses, just said it all!

Faye and James held their wedding ceremony in St. James church. North Cray, Bexley. A beautiful church set back from the road and on the edge of Footcray Meadows.
James arrived first, with his groomsmen, to meet and greet guests arriving – some still getting dressed.
They were ushered to a side building where they could help themselves to a drink whilst waiting to be ushered into church ahead of the bride’s arrival. I thought this was such a good idea as it was a hot summers day so I am sure the refreshments were welcome!

After the wedding I caught up with Faye to ask her what her favourite memory of the day was and she said ‘It’s really hard to pick out just one as with loved every minute of the day but if we had to pick one it would be seeing each other during the walk down the aisle in the church.”

After the ceremony it was back out into the sunshine to greet guests and mingle for a bit before making their way to the reception which took place at the beautiful Hall Place, Bexley. Faye and James chose both venues because they both have childhood memories of both locations and also because they are local.

Hall Place is a Grade 1 listed country house built in 1537, with a wartime history – the American soldiers were stationed at Hall Place. The surrounding gardens are beautiful, alongside the house sits ‘The Queen’s Beasts’, enormous topiary planted to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

Once we arrived at Hall Place, and after a few quick photographs with the wedding car, I mingled with everyone taking photographs of the guests, some family groups, the dining hall and photographing all the details from the wedding day. My particular favourite was the table plan – which was handmade using copper pipe by James – who is a heating and gas engineer – and incorporated their initials,

Soon after the wedding breakfast I took the bride and groom off for some portraits of them on their own. I find that this time is a particular favourite with any couple – time alone to catch up, chat, have a little kiss, a cuddle and just be alone, well, with me photographing off course but I’m always out of earshot and I do leave you alone at some point once I’ve got what we need.
A little while after we finished it was time for the evening celebrations and the dancing to start!! Some serious shapes were being thrown too!!

Faye and James did not stop smiling and laughing all day. It was an absolute pleasure working with them and capturing their day.
Wishing them all the very best!!
